What is Joomla?

Joomla is an award winning open source CMS (Content Management System) which allows the site owner to login to the back-end of the website and make changes to content that is displayed on the front-end of the website.  An example of a custom Joomla front-end that I designed is this page that you are on right now, donniepullis.com was built with Joomla!  All that you need to be able to make changes to your website is a web browser and an internet connection.  You could update your website from your iPod Touch while sitting on your sofa if you wanted to!

One of the things that I love about Joomla is that you can customize Joomla and tailor it to your needs.  There are thousands and thousands of Joomla extensions, plug-ins, and modules that will make your website more useful.  Below are a few instances of Joomla extensions that I’ve found to be very useful:
